Maggie Tsai, AMFT

Registered Associate MFT under supervision by Lena Axelsson, LMFT # 47915

Maggie firmly believes that the heart of counseling work rests in a therapist's ability to listen and to nurture a trusting relationship.

Her style is characterized by warmth, compassion, and genuine connection. Her primary clinical modalities include Adlerian Therapy, Brainspotting, Somatic Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). For younger clients, she incorporates Play Therapy and Art Therapy techniques. Maggie's counseling approaches are all anchored in Adlerian theory, with the overarching goal of removing barriers that obstruct individuals' intrinsic drive for self-actualization.

As an immigrant, Maggie's multicultural background fosters an openness to diverse perspectives. She also honors the uniqueness of each individual experience. She skillfully guides clients to tune in to their physical and emotional responses. Drawing from her counseling expertise and rich life background, she collaborates with clients to facilitate deep processing, aiming for emotional release and healing.

Maggie holds a Master of Counseling degree from Palo Alto University, California. She has received specialized training in Brainspotting and Play Therapy.

On a personal level, Maggie enjoys reading, writing, and traveling. She has published two books, one of them a well-received Chinese translation of a memoir. While she values the time spent with friends, she equally treasures moments of solitude.
