Caroline brings a warm and compassionate approach to therapy, focusing on the holistic well-being of individuals and families. She believes in the importance of respect and creating a safe, nurturing space where clients can truly be themselves. Caroline implements somatic techniques, such as body awareness meditation and cognitive and behavior-based changes to tailor interventions to each client’s unique needs.
Caroline began her mental health profession within social services systems and residential behavioral health in Sweden. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Psychology from Uppsala University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Community Mental Health from CSUDH. Her diverse experience includes working in school environments, where she earned a Pupil Personnel Services Credential for school social work. Caroline also has experience in early childhood and foster care mental health treatments, often navigating the impact of various systems.
Trained in diversity and equity, Caroline deeply understands how intersecting factors such as race, physical health, culture, education, and socio-economic status impact mental well-being.
Caroline excels in supporting young children, youths, families, and adults with complex trauma histories. She has guided clients through challenges related to anxiety, depression, externalizing behaviors, family conflict and communication, and parenting strategies.
Her therapeutic expertise includes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy strategies, Play Therapy, Nurtured Heart Approach, trauma-focused cognitive approaches, family systems therapy, and various mindfulness techniques.
